The Saskatchewan Nurse Practitioner Conference is committed to fostering a positive, respectful, and enriching experience for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, or religion. This Code of Conduct outlines our collective responsibility to create and maintain an environment that upholds our highest standards of integrity, inclusion, respect, and professionalism. Adhering to these principles is essential for everyone to benefit fully from their participation in the event.
GENERAL CONDUCT
This General Conduct section outlines the expected standards of behavior for everyone involved in the event, including exhibitors, sponsors, attendees, staff, and speakers, across both in-person and virtual formats.
Professionalism in Interaction: All participants are expected to maintain a high standard of professionalism. Treat fellow exhibitors, sponsors, attendees, staff, and speakers with respect, courtesy, and consideration at all times.
Prohibition of Harassment and Discrimination: Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behaviour, materials, and speech.
Respectful Communication: Use appropriate and respectful language. Avoid any offensive or derogatory remarks or jokes that might harm the inclusive and professional atmosphere of the event.
Adherence to Venue and Event Rules: Comply with all the rules and regulations set by the event venue and organizers.
Compliance with Legal and Ethical Standards: Abide by all applicable laws and ethical standards, including respecting intellectual property rights and confidentiality.
Substance Use: Refrain from using substances that could impair judgment or professional conduct.
Online Conduct (For Virtual Participants): Uphold the same behavior standards online as expected in-person. Respect digital communication protocols and the privacy of other participants.
UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR
We will not tolerate the harassment of event participants. Anyone violating this Code of Conduct may be expelled from the conference and the venue at the discretion of the conference committee.
Harassment includes, but is not limited to:
- Offensive verbal comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, religion, or race
- Sexual images displayed in public spaces
- Intentional intimidation, stalking, or following
- Harassing photos or videos
- Inappropriate physical contact
- Unwelcome sexual attention and comments
- Advocating or encouraging any of the above behaviour
All determinations of appropriate or inappropriate behaviour are at the Saskatchewan Nurse Practitioner Conference committee’s sole discretion and the decision(s) of the Saskatchewan Nurse Practitioner Conference representatives on-site will be final.
REPORTING VIOLATIONS
If you witness or experience conduct that violates these standards, or if someone has made you feel unsafe or unwelcome, please notify the Conference Coordinator, Carol Tebay, as soon as possible. All reports will remain completely confidential. Someone from the conference committee will come and talk to you discreetly and will investigate the matter. We will then take any further action we deem appropriate that is within our control.
